How it all began

Trust is one of the most important things in any relationship- be it love, family or friendship.  The hurdle many find themselves facing is how to build that trust, then what to do if that trust is broken. 

I typically give everyone a chance and trust someone until they give me a reason not to.  Over the last couple years, I have been given many reasons not to and my trust has finally widdled down to frustration and resentment for my mother in law.  My husband and I joke that she is juggling not so secretly trying to agrivate me to death and collect enough cats that my severe allergy to them will just take me out.  The most disapointing part of this is that thigns were not always this way, I used to truly admire and love her with all my heart.  I miss the person she used to be...

In October of 2004 my boyfriend took me home to Long Island to meet his family for the first time.  A bold move, seeing as how we had only been together for a couple weeks, but a move that filled me with excitement and hope.  His father picked us up from the train station and I could immediately see where my boyfriend got his gentle and kind personality from.  His father was also equally quiet, but shy was not a word you could use to describe either of them.  It was as if they both did not want to taint the air with unecessary chatter. As we pulled into the driveway of a beautiful little blue two story colonial, i found comfort in the pretty garden and imagined sitting on the front porch for years to come with the man I was quickly falling in love with. This place felt safe, it felt like home.

When they opened the perfctly red front door and we stepped inside, his mom came rushing from the kitchen with a smile and her arms open for a hug. So far, things could not have been more perfect. I could not wait to get to know the people who raised such an amazing guy.

Greetings Friends,

This is my first time blogging and I'm excited to see how this goes.  I hope that my blogs cover topics surrounding family, morality, education, love and friedship. I also may throw in a comment or two about politics, but I'm hoping not to go there as I want this to be a space where I speak from my heart and can be passionate about matters in everyones day to day lives.
